Israel shifts operations in Gaza, seeks to return Israeli civilians to border towns

Long War -

Israel removes some of its soldiers from Gaza in preparation for a shift in strategy against Hamas. Israel's Defense Minister said that most Hamas battalions in northern Gaza have been completely defeated. Israel is also preparing to return Israeli civilians to some of the communities near Gaza that were evacuated after the October 7 attack.

New Jersey man arrested for attempting to join Shabaab, inspired by support of Hamas

The man reportedly traveled from Egypt to Kenya, where he planned to use Shabaab facilitators to cross into Somalia. The American citizen was motivated by his support of Hamas and desire to target the U.S. for its support of Israel.

Hamas headquarters in northern Gaza destroyed, IDF strikes Hezbollah

Long War -

Israel revealed details about a Hamas headquarters that was uncovered and destroyed in northern Gaza. The extensive tunnel system linked several houses and the tunnels included electricity and sewage systems. In southern Gaza, the IDF continued to expand operations. Hezbollah attacks targeted numerous communities in northern Israel, and the Israeli air force carried out retaliatory airstrikes against Hezbollah.

IDF shares findings from hostage shooting investigation as Hezbollah continues escalatory attacks

On December 28, sirens sounded near Haifa as a Hezbollah drone infiltrated Israeli airspace and was intercepted in northern Israel. Additionally, Hezbollah fired rockets and anti-tank missiles at numerous communities in northern Israel. The IDF also released findings from the investigation into its mistaken shooting of the three hostages earlier this month.

Hezbollah threats against Israel grow as rocket fire from Hezbollah targeting a church in northern Israel wounded both civilians and soldiers. Meanwhile in Gaza, the IDF expanded operations near Khan Yunis as well as in central Gaza.

Iraqi government ‘condemns’ retaliatory U.S. airstrikes on Hezbollah Brigades

Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani also denounced militia attacks on U.S. forces, however he is powerless to stop them. The Iranian-backed militias report to Sudani, but do not follow his orders. They are loyal to Iran.

U.S. military strikes Hezbollah Brigades in Iraq after soldiers wounded in drone strike

The U.S. hit three Hezbollah Brigades facilities after three U.S. soldiers were wounded, including one critically, in a drone strike at a U.S. airbase in Erbil. the handful of U.S. strikes has not deterred the militias or their Iranian masters.

Hezbollah attack kills IDF soldier as Israel consolidates control in Gaza

Long War -

An IDF soldier was killed by a Hezbollah attack in northern Israel on December 22. In Gaza, the IDF continued to uncover Hamas tunnels and terrorist infrastructure. IDF units used dogs to explore and document Hamas tunnels.
