Dickinson designated the commander of U.S. Space Forces-Space (S4S) as his Combined Joint Force Space Component Commander and deactivated the Combined Force Space Component Command and Joint Task Force-Space Defense during ceremonies here and at Schriever SFB, Colo., Jan. 8, 2024.

Combined US, coalition force increase combat effectiveness during Indo-Pacific Virtual Flag exercise

For the first time in the fourteen-year history of the Virtual Flag: Coalition exercise, integrated forces from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada fought against a peer adversary in a virtual Indo-Pacific area of responsibility. To increase combat effectiveness, the combined force engaged jointly across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains.

Nimble Titan 24 Conflict Event Occurs at Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation

Delegates from 20 nations and three international organizations gathered at the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation in Suffolk, Va., in mid-November for the Nimble Titan 24 Conflict Event. Sponsored by U.S. Space Command and organized and supported by the Joint Functional Component Command for Integrated Missile Defense, the event was the culmination of a series of planning and execution events over the past 18 months.

Space Force Guardians hone cyber defense skills using on-orbit satellite

In the realm of space operations, the significance of cyberspace security cannot be overstated. Often described as the ‘soft underbelly’ of space operations, it is an area of paramount importance, enabling and supporting space capabilities. To cultivate their expertise, U.S. Space Force Cyber Guardians engaged in a unique training exercise, named Moonlighter, from Nov. 14-17. This exercise was designed to focus on refining the defensive and offensive skill sets of these Guardians, centered around the Moonlighter imaging satellite.
