Israeli Military Vows Iranian Attack Will ‘Be Met With a Response’

“Iran wanted to harm the strategic capabilities of the State of Israel — that is something that had not happened before," says top IDF official.

The Israeli military announced it will retaliate against Iran’s drone and missile attack over the weekend that was mostly defended with the help of U.S. forces.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi on Monday declared the Iranian attack, which was the first ever on Israel launched from Iranian soil, “will be met with a response.”

“Iran wanted to harm the strategic capabilities of the State of Israel — that is something that had not happened before. We were prepared for the ‘Iron Shield’ operation — preparation that brought Iran to also meet air superiority,” Halevi said in a statement from the Nevatim Airbase, which suffered minor damage in the Iranian attack.

“Last Monday, we saw what was being organized, and we think that the State of Israel is very strong and knows how to deal with it alone, but with a threat so numerous and so far away, we are always happy to have [the United States] with us,” Halevi added.

“We are looking ahead, we are considering our steps, and this launch of so many missiles, cruise missiles, and UAVs into the territory of the State of Israel will be met with a response,” Halevi concluded.

Iran released a statement to the United Nations following its unprecedented attack, which was a retaliatory measure in response to Israel’s bombing of the Iranian embassy in Damascus that killed top-ranking Iranian Revolutionary Guard leaders earlier this month.

“The matter can be deemed concluded. However, should the Israeli regime make another mistake, Iran’s response will be considerably more severe,” read the statement.

Conducted on the strength of Article 51 of the UN Charter pertaining to legitimate defense, Iran’s military action was in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against our diplomatic premises in Damascus. The matter can be deemed concluded. However, should the Israeli…

Joe Biden on Sunday urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold off on a retaliatory strike, telling him to “take the win” of largely defending against Iran’s missiles and drones and avoid escalating the conflict.

Unsurprisingly, it appears neither Israel nor Iran are taking Biden’s warnings seriously.

Woman Reveals How She Snuck Ivermectin into Hospital to Save Dying Father

'He kept saying he was dying. I stayed up all night trying to figure out how I could possibly get the ivermectin to him that I had IN MY HANDS.'

A woman, whose father was dying from severe COVID complications in the hospital, detailed how she snuck in ivermectin treatments to him, crediting the medication with saving his life.

The woman explained that as her father’s health deteriorated and as doctors discussed potentially putting him on a ventilator, she became increasingly desperate to get the medicine to him.

The woman’s story was shared on X by Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, who had previously been “permanently suspended” from the platform for criticizing Covid injections for children and for promoting ivermectin as an alternative therapy for COVID.

Did you sneak ivermectin into the hospital for a loved one?

Here’s a story from @LostMyFlipFlop who saved her father’s life my taking matters into her own hands:

Here’s the woman’s story on how she saved her father’s life, excerpted from Bowden’s X post:

I wanted to share with you how I was able to save my dad’s life with ivermectin while he was in the hospital, even though I wasn’t allowed to see him.

He was one of those who got incredibly sick when he got Covid. His doctors were talking about the possibility of a ventilator but he wasn’t on one yet. His doctors would not even give me a prognosis or a guess. He was still able to talk and understand me on the phone but they wouldn’t let me see him. I already had the ivermectin for him but didn’t know how I would get it to him.

One night after talking to him on the phone, I could tell he was declining. He kept saying he was dying. I stayed up all night trying to figure out how I could possibly get the ivermectin to him that I had IN MY HANDS. I wanted to hide it in some clothes and get the hospital staff to take him his things but they wouldn’t allow anything that couldn’t be wiped down.

I stayed up all night long and tore my house apart trying to find something I could put the ivermectin in that was acceptable to the hospital, but not something they could easily open up and see the contents.

I found an old laptop. I disassembled it and put the ivermectin in tiny bags for each day and put them under the laptop keyboard. I put it back together, prayed, and then took it to the hospital. I left the laptop with security. They wiped it down and said they’d make sure he got it. They took it to his room having no idea they were personally delivering to him the drug that ultimately saved his life.

I don’t mess around when it comes to the wellbeing of the people I love.

What Happened to Bitcoin?

Gone is the talk of separating money and state, of a market-based means of exchange, of genuine revolution that would extend from money to the whole of politics the world over.

Those who involved themselves in Bitcoin markets after 2017 encountered a different operation and ideal than those who came before. Today, no one much cares about what came before, speaking of 2010-2016. They are only watching the upward price momentum and are thrilled for the increase in the asset valuation of their portfolio.

Gone is the talk of separating money and state, of a market-based means of exchange, of genuine revolution that would extend from money to the whole of politics the world over. And gone is the talk of changing the operation of money as a means of changing the prospects for freedom itself. The enthusiasts around Bitcoin have different goals in mind.

And during this entire period, the exact time when this digital asset might have protected multitudes of users and businesses from rapacious inflation growing out of the worst and most globalized experience of corporatist statism in modern history, made possible due to the money monopoly of central banks that funded the operation, the original asset that carries the symbol BTC was systematically diverted from its original purpose.

The ideal was nicely articulated by F.A. Hayek in 1974. Much of his career as an economist was spent arguing for sound monetary policies. At every important turning point, he faced the same problem: governments and the institutions they serve did not want sound money. They wanted to manipulate the currency system to benefit elites, not the public. Finally, he refined his argument. He concluded that the only real answer was a complete divorce of money and power.

“Nothing can be more welcome than depriving government of its power over money and so stopping the apparently irresistible trend towards an accelerating increase of the share of the national income it is able to claim,” he wrote in 1976 (two years after his Nobel Prize). “If allowed to continue, this trend would in a few years bring us to a state in which governments would claim 100 per cent of all resources—and would in consequence become literally ‘totalitarian’.”

“It may turn out that cutting off government from the tap which supplies it with additional money for its use may prove as important in order to stop the inherent tendency of unlimited government to grow indefinitely, which is becoming as menacing a danger to the future of civilisation as the badness of the money it has supplied.”

The problem in achieving this ideal was technical and institutional. So long as state money worked, there was no real drive to change it. Certainly the push would never come from the ruling classes who benefit from the present system, which is precisely where every old argument for the gold standard faltered. How to get around this problem?

In 2009, a pseudonymous developer or group released a white paper, written in language for computer scientists and not economists, for a peer-to-peer system of digital cash. For most economists at the time, its functioning was opaque and not quite believable. The proof came in the functioning itself which unfolded over the course of 2010. To summarize, it deployed a distributed ledger, double-key cryptography, and a protocol of fixed quantity to release a new form of money that operationally tied together money itself and a settlement system in one.

In other words, Bitcoin achieved the ideal about which Hayek could only dream. The key to making it all possible was the distributed ledger itself, which relied on the internet to globalize the nodes of operation, bringing a new form of accountability we had never seen in operation before. The notion of melding together the means of payment plus the mechanisms of settlement on this scale was something that had previously not been possible. And yet there it was, earning its way into the market with ever increasing valuations made possible by the distributed ledger.

So, yes, I became an early enthusiast, writing hundreds of articles, even publishing a book in 2015 called Bit By Bit: How P2P Is Freeing the World. I could not have known it at the time, but those were in fact the last days of the ideal and just before the protocol came to be controlled by a consolidated group of developers who jettisoned entirely the idea of peer-to-peer cash to turn it into a high-earning digital security, not a competitor with state-based money but rather an asset designed not to use but hold with third-party intermediaries controlling access.

We saw all this unfold in real time and many of us were aghast. All that is left to us is to tell the story, which has not been done in a complete form until now. Roger Ver’s new book Hijacking Bitcoin does the job. It is a book for the ages simply because it lays out all the facts of the case and lets readers come to their own conclusion. I was honored to write the foreword, which follows.

The story you will read here is of tragedy, the chronicle of an emancipationist monetary technology subverted to other ends. It’s a painful read, to be sure, and the first time this story has been told with this much detail and sophistication. We had the chance to free the world. That chance was missed, likely hijacked and subverted.

Those of us who watched Bitcoin from the earliest days saw with fascination how it gained traction and seemed to offer a viable alternative path for the future of money. At long last, after thousands of years of government corruption of money, we finally had a technology that was untouchable, sound, stable, democratic, incorruptible, and a fulfillment of the vision of the great champions of freedom from all history. At last, money could be liberated from state control and thus achieve economic rather than political goals—prosperity for everyone versus war, inflation, and state expansion.

That was the vision in any case. Alas, it did not happen. Bitcoin adoption is lower today than it was five years ago. It is not on a trajectory of final victory but on a different path to gradually increase in price for its earlier adopters. In short, the technology was betrayed by small changes that hardly anyone understood at the time.

I certainly did not. I had been playing with Bitcoin for a few years and was mainly astounded at the speed of settlement, the low cost of transactions, and the ability for anyone without a bank to send or receive it without financial mediation. That’s a miracle about which I wrote rhapsodically at the time. I held a CryptoCurrency Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, in October 2013 that focused on the intellectual and technical side of things. It was among the first national conferences on the topic, but even at this event, I noticed two sides coalescing: those who believed in monetary competition and those whose sole commitment was to one protocol.

My first clue that something had gone wrong came two years later, when for the first time I saw that the network had been seriously clogged. Transaction fees soared, settlement slowed to a crawl, and vast numbers of on-ramps and off-ramps were closing due to high compliance costs. I did not understand. I reached out to a number of experts who explained to me about a quiet civil war that had developed within the crypto world. The so-called “maximalists” had turned against widespread adoption. They liked the high fees. They did not mind the slow settlements. And many were involving themselves in the dwindling number of crypto exchanges that were still in operation thanks to a government crackdown.

At the same time, new technologies were becoming available that vastly improved the efficiency and availability of exchange in fiat dollars. They included Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, FB payments, and many others besides, in addition to smartphone attachments and iPads that enabled any merchant of any size to process credit cards. These technologies were completely different from Bitcoin because they were permission-based and mediated by financial companies. But to users, they seemed great and their presence in the marketplace crowded out the use case of Bitcoin at the very time that my beloved technology had become an unrecognizable version of itself.

The forking of Bitcoin into Bitcoin Cash occurred two years later, in 2017, and it was accompanied by great cries and screams as if something horrible was happening. In fact, all that was happening was a mere restoration of the original vision of the founder Satoshi Nakamoto. He believed with the monetary historians of the past that the key to turning any commodity into widespread money was adoption and use. It’s impossible to even imagine conditions under which any commodity could take on the form of money without a viable and marketable use case. Bitcoin Cash was an attempt to restore that.

The time to ramp up adoption of this new technology was 2013-2016, but that moment was squeezed in two directions: the deliberate throttling of the ability of the technology to scale and the push of new payment systems to crowd out the use case. As this book demonstrates, by late 2013, Bitcoin had already been targeted for capture. By the time Bitcoin Cash came to the rescue, the network had changed its entire focus from use to holding what we have and building second-layer technologies to deal with the scaling issues. Here we are in 2024 with an industry struggling to find its way within a niche while the dreams of a “to-the-moon” price are fading into memory.

This is the book that had to be written. It is a story of a missed opportunity to change the world, a tragic tale of subversion and betrayal. But it is also a hopeful story of efforts we can make to ensure that the hijacking of Bitcoin is not the final chapter. There is still the chance for this great innovation to liberate the world but the path from here to there turns out to be more circuitous than any of us ever imagined.

Roger Ver does not blow his own trumpet in this book, but he truly is a hero of this saga, not only deeply knowledgeable of the technologies but also a man who has clung to an emancipatory vision of Bitcoin from the earliest days through the present. I share his commitment to the idea of peer-to-peer currency for the masses, alongside a competitive marketplace for free-enterprise monies. This is a hugely important documentary history, and the polemic alone will challenge anyone who believes himself to be on the other side. Regardless, this book had to exist, however painful. It’s a gift to the world.

Does this story seem familiar? Indeed it does. We’ve seen this trajectory in sector after sector. Institutions born and built by ideals are later converted by various forces of power, access, and nefarious intent into something else entirely. We’ve seen this happen to digital tech in particular and the Internet generally, not to mention medicine, public health, science, liberalism, and so much else. The story of Bitcoin follows the same trajectory, a seemingly immaculate conception turned toward a different purpose, and serving again as a reminder that on this side of heaven, there will never be an institution or idea immune to compromise and corruption.

Watch: Car Thief Mows Down Good Samaritan Who Fired Shots In Attempt To Stop Crime

Terrifying incident captured on film.

Disturbing footage out of North Carolina shows the moment a car theft turned deadly with a suspect using a vehicle to run over and kill a good samaritan who tried to stop the midday carjacking last month.

In the video, 38-year-old Jonathan Lecompte can be seen pointing a handgun at 28-year-old Ricky Driggers and yelling, “Don’t get in the goddamn truck, fool!”

When Driggers ignored the command and sat in the truck’s driver seat, Lecompte fired four shots at him as he backed up the vehicle.

Next, Lecompte shouted to bystanders, “Get out of the way, he’s gonna run into us!”

Several people went running, including Lecompte, but the truck was able to strike him and send him flying into the air.

Lecompte was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Driggers was later caught by police and is being charged with first-degree murder, attempted common law robbery, larceny of a motor vehicle and felony fleeing to elude.

Ramaswamy: NYC DA Alvin Bragg’s Lawfare Against Trump a ‘Bastardization of Our Legal System’

'This case is obviously a corruption of the law. Lawfare,' responds tech entrepreneur Elon Musk.

Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy laid out the circumstances that have culminated in ex-President Donald Trump’s unprecedented show trial over alleged hush money payments in New York City.

“Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of Donald Trump and its trial begins today. What a joke,” began Ramaswamy, going on to detail how Bragg bypassed the statute of limitations by claiming Trump committed a felony, rather than a misdemeanor.

Alvin Bragg‘s case against Trump rests on the ludicrous legal premise that a candidate must use *campaign* funds to make personal hush money payments. Yet if Trump had done that, they’d undoubtedly be going after him for that. This isn’t the pursuit of justice, it’s a political… pic.twitter.com/PajtiLegIx

— Vivek Ramaswamy (@VivekGRamaswamy) April 15, 2024

“It’s almost as though they decided this is the person we’re going to prosecute and then we’re going to figure out what we’re going to charge him with after the fact. Well, guess what? That’s exactly what happened.”

Ramaswamy went on to note the pursuit of criminal charges against Trump is purely political, as Bragg campaigned on “going after Donald Trump.”

“For what crime? We had no idea,” Ramaswamy stated. “Just the idea that they had to go after Donald Trump.”

“This is a politician keeping his campaign promise. That is a bastardization of our legal system. That’s not how we do things in the United States.”

The former GOP candidate pointed out the prosecution of Trump is eroding the very fabric of America.

“I think Trump is going to prevail. But most importantly, I hope we move beyond this phase of our history, where you have one political party that thinks it can use the legal system to prosecute its opponents. The same shoe can fit the other foot, and if we keep going down this direction, we’re not going to have a country left.”

Tech billionaire Elon Musk agreed with Ramawamy’s message on X, writing, “This case is obviously a corruption of the law. Lawfare.”

MSNBC Meltdown: Trump Trial ‘Tawdry’ But Reveals ‘His Character Doesn’t Exist’

"There’s a bit of shamelessness, He’s misogynistic. He attacks people’s families. He knows no bounds and he tries to behave in authoritarian manner," says historian.

The panelists on MSNBC once again went the extra mile trashing former President Donald Trump ahead of his scheduled criminal trial in New York on Monday.

Presidential historian Douglas Brinkley began by admitting that the case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was “tawdry” but claimed it reveals that Trump is a bad person.

“We’re in a really tawdry case, the fact we’re bringing up hush money payments, hearing the porn star, whatever you call it, all over again,” Brinkley said.

“I think it matters though. It’s really pointing to, once again, that Trump’s character doesn’t exist. That there’s a bit of shamelessness, He’s misogynistic. He attacks people’s families. He knows no bounds and he tries to behave in authoritarian manner.”

— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) April 15, 2024

Brinkley also bloviated about why more voters aren’t turned off by the trial’s “circus atmosphere” and the “seriousness” of the charges.

“It leaves you wondering why Trump doesn’t lose voters this coming week, but I doubt he will because people are pretty baked in about how they feel about the former president,” he noted.

The charges from Bragg stem from a $130,000 payment Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, made to ex-porn star Stormy Daniels at the end of the 2016 election to keep her from going public with an allegation that she and Trump had an affair.

The trial begins today with jury selection, which could take up to two weeks because of the large pool of prospective jurors.

Ron Paul: FISA Exchanges Real Liberty for Phantom Security.

Section 702 authorizes warrantless surveillance of foreign citizens.

House Speaker Mike Johnson betrayed liberty and the Constitution by making a full-court press to get a “clean” reauthorization of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) Act through the House.

Section 702 authorizes warrantless surveillance of foreign citizens. When the FISA Act was passed, surveillance state boosters promised that 702 warrantless surveillances would never be used against American citizens. However, intelligence agencies have used a loophole in 702, allowing them to subject to warrantless surveillance any American who communicated with a non-US citizen who was a 702 target. Intelligence agencies could then also conduct warrantless surveillance on any Americans who communicated with the new American target. This Section 702 loophole has been used so often to subject Americans to warrantless wiretapping that it has been referred to as the surveillance state’s crown jewel.

A bipartisan coalition of Republican and Democratic House members worked to add a warrant requirement to the FISA bill. Speaker Johnson agreed to allow a vote on the House floor on an amendment requiring federal officials to get a warrant before subjecting any American to surveillance. However, he publicly opposed the amendment, as did President Biden. Prominent deep state operatives, such as former Secretary of State and CIA Director Mike Pompeo, also lobbied against the amendment.

The case against adding a warrant requirement to FISA consisted of hysterical claims that forcing the surveillance state to obey the Fourth Amendment would make Americans vulnerable to terrorist attacks. Particularity, the claim was made that forcing national security operatives to get a warrant before spying on US citizens would cripple the ability to respond to a “ticking time bomb” situation.

Those claims were debunked by the heroic Edward Snowden, who made the American people aware of the extent of warrantless surveillance. Snowden, who worked as a government contractor for the National Security Agency (NSA), posted in a message on X (formally known as Twitter) that the warrant amendment would not stop federal agencies from acting without a warrant in a “ticking time bomb” situation.

A vote was held Friday afternoon on the amendment requiring a warrant before Section 702 powers would be used to spy on American citizens. Despite the fearmongering by Mike Pompeo and others, as well as the opposition of both President Biden and Speaker Johnson, the amendment failed to pass by only one vote. The amendment would have passed had Speaker Johnson not cast a rare floor vote (speakers usually do not vote on legislation) against the amendment.

When the PATRIOT Act was rushed to the House floor in the fall of 2001 — weeks after 9-11 — and voted upon before members had a chance to read it, only three Republicans voted against it. One conservative representative told me he voted for it even though he agreed with my opposition to the bill. He told me, “I can’t go back home and tell my constituents I voted agent the PATRIOIT Act!”

While the failure to pass the warrant amendment was dispiriting, the fact that it failed by only one vote shows how much progress we have made. It should thus inspire us to keep encouraging Congress to refuse to take away real liberty in the name of promises of phantom security.

GATECRASHERS: China’s Disintegration Warfare

No country comes remotely close to executing the Art of War as China does with its methodical creeping disintegration warfare being waged on the United States.

America is intentionally under attack by many incarnations of foreign infiltration. Whether its the blunt dull force of the open Jihad growing within the interior of the United States, or the hordes of bloodthirsty Haitians storming the beaches of Florida, or the now rampant looting of American stores, hospitals, and benefits by illegals that has no end in sight.

Yet, no Country comes remotely close to executing the Art of War as China does with its methodical creeping disintegration warfare being waged on the United States.

Author Peter Schweitzer writes that disintegration warfare, “in the Chinese leaders’ words is going after the United States’ ‘soft underbelly’ in terms of politics, economics, and the spirit and psychology of people.” It is based on the ancient Chinese strategist and general Sun Tzu’s teachings on how to win a war without fighting. The strategy is aimed at undermining a rival country’s “national will, values, and cohesion.”

A Chinese Migrant who is now a US Congressional Candidate has warned Americans not to underestimate China’s use of ‘soft power’ to infiltrate the U.S. and achieve global dominance.

“Most of those people they want to flee China because in the last three years it has become very harsh and inhumane,” she said. “In 2012, under Xi Jinping, you notice a shift in China. He is the new Mao, doing Cultural Revolution 2.0.”

“But I’m also very worried is so well organized, correlated, with some sleeper cells … I just feel like we have a really dark force on us…”

And while the swarms of illegals continue to chip away at the American economy. China is logging every weakness in American national security it can find. In 2019, three Chinese nationals were sentenced to prison for illegally taking photographs at a Florida Navy base.

Lyuyou Liao, 27, was sentenced to 12 months in prison, after pleading guilty to illegally entering NAS Key West and taking photographs and video footage of property on the Truman Annex of the station. Of course the cartel/china Fentanyl operations are contributing to killing over 100,000 Americans as of 2023. Meanwhile, the Chinese are pouring fuel on the fire of gang violence tearing cities apart.

As Breitbart reported, “Cities such as St. Louis continued to devolve into war zones. In 2021, the ATF reported 66 incidents of full auto gunfire. The next year, there were 339. Well over a third occurred in St. Louis County.”

The Communist Chinese government has been flooding the United States with illicit gun parts. Records reveal that between 2019 and 2021, there was a rise of 4,200 percent in incidents involving machine gun fire in 130 American cities, Schweizer reveals.

Although some of the illegal auto switches are made on 3D printers in the U.S., “the vast majority on the street” are from China and are of much higher quality that those made on 3D printers, Schweizer writes.

Not surprisingly, the number of switches seized by law enforcement officials investigating crimes jumped by a startling “570% during a period of 2017 to 2021, compared to the previous five years,” according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

America is up the creek without a paddle with the possibility of a rigged election in sight. The Chinese flooding of third world America with Glock Switches ensuring that the mass murder of innocent civilians will eventually lead to sweeping gun control.

The Personal Really Is Political

Our identity is more than just a series of badges we wear

“Unpopular opinion: mind your business and leave the guy alone.”

That was professor Peter Boghossian, whom you may know for his role in the “grievance studies affair” with James Lindsay and Helen Pluckrose. He was offering his two cents on Twitter about a story I covered for Infowars on Saturday: the Spanish politician outed as a gross sexual deviant when videos of him eating his own feces off the floor ended up on social media.

Until March 27, when he was relieved of his duties, Daniel Gómez del Barrio was a representative of the country’s ruling left-wing Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party in the council for the sleepy town of Illescas. What’s more, he was the council’s head of the local Department of Youth, Children and the Family.

Imagine that.

Spanish news website El Diario described how del Barrio “offered himself on social networks as a ‘despicable sexual slave.’” He also requested to be “humiliated and used as a urinal.”

For liberals, eating your own feces on camera is just a valid lifestyle choice like any other, and should be no bar to holding public office. pic.twitter.com/NYs7IH8EDZ

— RAW EGG NATIONALIST (@Babygravy9) April 14, 2024

Peter Boghossian seems to believe he’s in a minority when he states that what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms is a matter solely for their own concern and should have no bearing on their public standing whatsoever.

Except he’s wrong. It’s not an “unpopular opinion” at all.

Truth is, the notion that sexuality, and identity more broadly, is simply a badge or series of badges we wear is one of the abiding pathologies of modern liberalism and modern life. Every aspect of our personality can simply be put on or taken off at will. Nothing stays, nothing sticks, nothing carries over from one aspect of our lives to the next.

Put it on, take it off.

You’re a “despicable sex slave” at home, and an upstanding pillar of the community, a man with the right moral instincts to protect children and families, as soon as the key turns in the door and you’re off to work.

Unless, of course, you’re one of the two congressional staffers caught having sex in the Capitol back in December, in which case you definitely take your sexual proclivities with you to work.

But that was just an aberration right?

We’ve heard this so many times before. It was precisely the language that was used in the late 1970s and early 1980s by the gay-rights movement. “What happens between two consenting adults in the bedroom is between them and them alone.”

Or, rather, what happens in the unlit rooms and strappado-chambers of the San Francisco bath-houses is between the two or 20 or 200 men involved and them alone.

Actually, most people didn’t even know what the bath-houses were or what kind of things were going on in them. It would have been better if they had. Then they’d have had a better idea of what to expect twenty, thirty or even, now, forty years down the line. Instead, heterosexual allies of the gay-rights movement thought homosexual men were campaigning for the right to be in monogamous, loving relationships—and how could anybody object to that?

If you want to know more about this clever switcheroo, I’d point you in the direction of Randy Schilts’ classic book about the early days of the AIDS epidemic, And the Band Played On. Schilts, an openly gay man himself, drew huge criticism from the gay community for breaking the gay omerta on the bathhouses.

The moral of that story: Beware anybody who tells you slippery slopes aren’t real. They’re greasing the slope as they speak.

The notion of durable identity—of character, to use an old-fashioned term—has really taken a beating over the last hundred years. As well as fashionable literary and philosophical theories imported from the madrassas of Paris, home-grown notions have done their part too.

Stanley Milgram dealt a grievous blow with his famous electro-shock experiments, the results of which were published in his 1974 book Obedience to Authority. Millgram was able to persuade ordinary people to administer what they thought were fatal electric shocks to other people, simply by having people in lab-coats tell them to do so. The implication was that all it took for “nice people” to become brainless automatons that could be programmed to kill, was the presence of authority. The world was shocked, but maybe a little less shocked than it would have been had World War II not happened.

What’s interesting about the Milgram experiments isn’t necessarily that so many people could be convinced to “kill” to curry favour with authority figures, but that so many couldn’t. In actual fact, what deserves explaining in the Milgram experiments is precisely not why so many did “kill”, but why so many didn’t.

Why?

The answer is… character. People do have durable identities and personalities. They do carry themselves with them wherever they go. Yes, some people may have weak character, and bend easily when pressure is applied, but others don’t. They know who and what they are.

They know what is right and what is wrong.

This isn’t just the story of the Milgram experiments. It’s the story of the pandemic too: of all the brave people who risked their jobs and livelihoods, who risked social ostracism and were shunned by their families, who refused to be compelled to bargain with the government for their god-given rights as sovereign individuals.

It’s the story of social life, full stop.

So when someone says to me, “Mind your own business about that politician’s personal life,” I say, “No, I don’t think I will.” The personal really is political.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump delivered an hour-long speech in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania Saturday night to a massive crowd of 42,000 where he discussed the dire straights America has found itself in under the current administration and what he would do to make America great again.

“They want to silence me because I will never let them silence you and in the end they’re not after me, they’re after you, and I just happen to be standing in their way and I always will be in their way,” Trump said.

The 45th President showed the Pennsylvania crowed a chart on a large screen depicting the massive increase in illegal aliens entering the U.S. under Joe Biden, labeling it as a ‘rocket ship of illegal immigrants’ saying many of the people coming don’t even know the names of the countries they come from.

“They’re sending prisoners, murderers, drug dealers, mental patients and terrorists, the worst anywhere in the world,” Trump said. “People are coming from the Congo…where do you live in the Congo, we live in prison, oh that’s right they released them from prison…but they’re coming in from Africa.”

The former president also discussed the transgender takeover of women’s sports, covering the story of a world class female swimmer who was about to break a record until she faced a man in competition.

“…but then she looked to her very right…and there was this giant human being, a man that about three weeks before was a man, but now he’s a woman,” Trump said.

The Republican candidate said he will have the wars that started under Biden ended immediately under his presidency to avoid nuclear war.

“I will have the horrible war between Russia and Ukraine totally settled, I will settle it, and I’m the only one who can say this because these other people have no clue, I will prevent World War Three,” Trump said.

Trump began his speech by wishing prayers and blessings to Israel, chronicling the failures of President Joe Biden, which he referred to as weak on foreign policy, immigration, energy, and geopolitics.

“To think about what we have to go through and the things we put up with, with at the border, with the no energy independence, with all electric cars, would everybody like to buy an electric car for the rest of your life,” Trump asks the crowed, which erupted with an resounding ‘no’.

The former president discussed how he will bring back what has been taken away under the Biden presidency.

“We will return the world to peace-through-strength and it will happen very quickly, we will revive American strength abroad and we will restore American strength at home, we were respected 4 years ago all over the world, today we are considered a joke,” he said. “It’s not going to be for long, believe me.”

Trump said that if he’s elected America will quickly restore its economy to the greatest in the world, while also citing inflation under Biden and the constantly changing story coming from the Democrat president.

“First of all Crooked Joe claimed inflation was transitory, remember that, then he said it was temporary, then he said it won’t happen, it really won’t happen, and then he said well it’s much higher than expected, and then the supply chains closed, and then the energy went through the roof,” Trump said.

He went on to say that all of America knows the real blame for the bad economy lies with one man, Joe Biden. Trump also went over price increases on energy and fuel under Biden, promising to end the inflation and put a stop to The Green New Deal which he labeled as The Green New Scam, a hoax.

“On day one I will terminate Crooked Joe’s insane electric vehicle mandate, gone, day one, that’s going to happen on day one,” Trump said.

The 45th president pivoted into how U.S. liberties are being curtailed, mentioning how the Second Amendment is being eviscerated under Biden and promising it won’t be under him.

“We’re the ones who are fighting to save our democracy and Crooked Joe Biden is the demented tyrant, he’s the demented tyrant who’s trying to destroy our democracy,” Trump said, later going on to talk about how Biden can’t speak, walk and almost fell out of a helicopter.

He also discussed the upcoming trial against him which he labeled a ‘Biden trial’.

“Fully gagged before a highly conflicted and corrupt judge that suffers from TDS, does anyone know what TDS is? Correct, Trump Derangement Syndrome,” he said to the raucous crowd.

“But like all true communist show trials, this is what you call a communist show trial, and we’re going communist, don’t kid yourself,” the former president said, which elicited the chant ‘we love Trump’.

The Republican presidential hopeful discussed the stolen 2020 election and warned of election theft in 2024, saying that we need a landslide victory that’s too big to rig.

“Now they cheat like hell and when you see them cheating you get out there and start screaming, start screaming,” Trump said. “The racial left Democrats rigged the presidential election in 2020 and we’re not going to allow them to rig the presidential election of 2024.”

The presidential candidate finished up by calling the 2024 election ‘the final battle’.

“We’re ready to be a failed nation, we’re a failed nation right now,” Trump said.

Trump Slams ‘Political Prosecution’ At NYC Trial – ‘This Is An Assault On America’

Democrats blatantly engaging in election meddling via lawfare

Donald Trump on Monday arrived at a New York courthouse for his trial related to “hush money” payments the presidential frontrunner allegedly made to porn star Stormy Daniels.

“This is an assault on America,” Trump told press members at the courthouse. “Nothing like this has ever happened before. There’s never been anything like it. Every legal scholar said this case is nonsense. It should never have been brought. It doesn’t deserve anything like this. There is no case.”

He added, “This is political persecution. This is a persecution like never before. Nobody’s ever seen anything like it. And again, it’s a case that should have never been brought. It’s an assault of America, and that’s why I’m very proud to be here. This is an assault on our country. And it’s a country that’s failing.”

Trump also called out Joe Biden as an “incompetent man who’s very much involved in this case,” explaining, “This is really an attack on a political opponent. That’s all it is.”

Outside the courthouse, NYC patriots showed their support for the 45th President.

UK Cops May Begin Scanning Faces on The Streets

Facial recognition technology will be used to find suspects of retail crime by investigating everyone who's caught up in the face scanning zones.

In an ongoing bid to combat retail crime, U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s office has launched a £55.5 million plan Wednesday to roll out state of the art surveillance technologies on the streets of the Anglo nation.

The new technology consists of a major increase in facial recognition systems used to identify people in public.

“This will include £4 million for bespoke mobile units that can be deployed to high streets across the country with live facial recognition used in crowded areas to identify people wanted by the police – including repeat shoplifters,” the official statement published Wednesday said.

The government funded plan will utilize mobile units that record people in towns and main streets, comparing the captured images to specific suspects the police are searching for, or those banned from certain locations. Law enforcement will then be notified to intercept the targets.

According to the government announcement the initiative expands on the Retail Crime Action Plan with 5 key points:

  • creating a new offense of assaulting a retail worker
  • expanding the use of electronic monitoring for frequent shoplifters
  • using new technologies to prevent and detect retail crime
  • designing out crime, to reduce opportunities to steal and sell stolen goods
  • making it easier to report crime and share information between businesses and police

Civil liberties nongovernmental organization [NGO] Big Brother Watch has launched a campaign against the measure, and is seeking signatories on a petition against the program.

“It’s an abysmal waste of public money on a dangerously authoritarian and inaccurate technology that neither the public nor parliament has ever voted on. This will cost not only the public purse but the public’s privacy and civil liberties. Live facial recognition may be commonplace in China and Russia but these Government plans put the UK completely out of sync with the rest of the democratic world,” Silkie Carlo, Director of civil liberties NGO Big Brother Watch said Wednesday. “This Orwellian tech has no place in Britain.”

Carlo’s use of the term ‘inaccurate technology’ is especially concerning, as false positives will result in innocent bystanders being detained, swept up in an investigation which could potentially result in their arrest and imprisonment until they are able to prove their innocence.

“The UK is known for mass use of CCTV cameras, with London being the most surveilled city in Europe, and unsurprisingly, facial recognition has been welcomed with great enthusiasm,” Reclaim The Net’s Didi Rankovic wrote Friday.

The Prime Minister’s press release included numerous quotes from individuals lauding the new initiative, yet non detracting from its perceived benefits.

Israel May Stage False Flag Attacks in America, Army Intel Officer Warns

Staged terror may be on Israel's playbook, says analyst.

Geopolitical analyst and former Army intelligence officer Scott Bennett spoke with Alex Jones on Sunday about the rapidly deteriorating situation in the Middle East, possibly leading to a false flag terror attack carried out by Israel against the U.S. which will cause more civil rights to be curtailed.

“Well we talked about this weeks ago, that the FBI, CIA, Mossad were going to be doing terrorist attacks inside the United States and blaming it Iran, that’s been my speculation for a long time,” Bennett said. “And I do think they’re going to do it.”

The analyst went on to say that such attacks will allow for a greater perennial police state.

BREAKING: Priest and Three Others Stabbed During Service in Australia, Attack Caught on Live Stream

The priest was conducted mass when he was attacked and stabbed

A priest at the church of Christ the Good Shepherd in the Sydney suburb of Wakeley has been stabbed during a service at the church. The attack, which was captured on a live broadcast, took place on Monday evening in front of a terrified congregation.

The priest, Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel, was delivering mass at the church when his assailant, dressed in black, attacked him with a knife. Three others were injured during the incident. At this stage, no-one has died.

Officers have arrested the attacker and are questioning him.

Bishop Emmanuel gained a huge following on social media and notoriety for speaking out against the pandemic’s social restrictions and vaccine mandates, which he described as “mass slavery.”

“Are we humans? Because we are being treated like animals,” he asked in a sermon in 2021.

“They are encouraging people to go and take vaccine and stay at home. They have had enough.”

Reporting of the incident refers to him as an “anti-vaxxer.”

The attack comes just two days after another terrifying stabbing incident in Sydney. Six people, including the attacker, Joel Cauchi, were left dead after a rampage at Westfield Bondi shopping mall.

After initial suggestions that the attack might be terror-related, it appears the police are now treating the incident as one in which women were specifically targeted. The majority of the victims were women.

It has now been revealed that Cauchi worked as a male escort and that he stalked other shopping centers in the run-up to the fatal attack. His search histories have apparently revealed a fixation with killing which suggest the attack was planned.

VIDEO: Robert Barnes Responds to Israel Committing Political Suicide, Trump’s First Criminal Trial, & More

Persecution of Donald Trump will backfire, according to renowned lawyer.

Attorney Robert Barnes joined Alex Jones Sunday to discuss current political events and the law-fare attacks against presidential candidate Donald Trump.

“Trump was the victim of extortion by Stormy Danials, not the person who perpetrated it, and they’re trying to convert an accounting issue into a criminal issue,” Barnes said. “And the idea that it interfered in the election is ludicrous, there’s no evidentiary bases for that, and of course they’re focused on things that Trump did while President of the United States and pretending somehow he can’t be immune from prosecution by politically motivated prosecutors for this, so I think what the judge is doing he thinks is going to advance the Democrat Party’s interest, I think it’s going to undermine it.”

Barnes went on to explain how the political prosecution of Trump will put more pressure on the Supreme Court to grant the former president full immunity in all these cases.

Guatemala Investigating US NGOs for Child Trafficking, Seeking Help from Texas Attorney General

Guatemala is seeking help from the State of Texas to counter child trafficking and abuse

Guatemala is seeking help from the Texas Attorney General to investigate child trafficking in the country by US NGOs, according to investigative journalist Sara Carter.

On her website yesterday, Carter described obtaining an official letter sent by the Guatemalan government to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. The letter was sent to Paxton on Saturday.

“Guatemala’s Attorney General is investigating ongoing criminal claims that a number of American tax payer funded non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating both inside and outside the United States are complicit  in the ongoing trafficking, abuse and disappearance of children from its nation, according to an official Guatemalan letter obtained by this investigative columnist.”

The letter alleges that unaccompanied minors and adolescents are being trafficked from Guatemala into the US and suffering “sexual and physical abuse” at facilities that are run by NGOs funded by the US taxpayer.

#BREAKING Guatemala is investigating U.S. NGOs for child trafficking, seeks Texas AG collaboration

Guatemala’s Attorney General is investigating ongoing criminal claims that a number of American tax payer funded non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating both inside and…

— Sara A. Carter (@SaraCarterDC) April 15, 2024

Billions of dollars have been granted by the US to NGOs working to aid illegal migrants entering the US.

“As a Prosecutor’s Office, Ministerio Publico of Guatemala, have received a criminal complaint that states some criminal actions, which we see with great concern,” Angel Pineda, Guatemala’s Secretary General, told Carter.

“Due to the situation that is happening in Texas, regarding different forms of abuses of some Guatemalan children and adolescents, when the institution received that criminal complaint, the institution has started investigations, so it is necessary to work on this matter in an integral way.

“That is why, I have been authorized to ask for the collaboration of prosecutor Paxton so we can work together and protect Guatemalan children, and have sent a letter in that matter.”

In the letter, Attorney General María Consuelo Porras lays out in detail the shocking allegations against these government-funded American NGOs.

“These Guatemalan children have reportedly been placed in shelters and organizations throughout Texas under the guise of providing them with a family environment. Disturbingly, there have been reports and documented situations of sexual abuse in these shelters, which is a huge violation of the rights and dignity of these children.”

The letter places a significant portion of the blame for the abuses on the State of Texas.

“The State of Texas bears much of the responsibility for these lost children, who have been transferred to the border and processed migratory (through migration procedures)  in Texas apparently fully aware of this situation.”

Porras continues: “You know, deficiencies in security and diplomacy related to the border between the United States and Mexico have resulted in a significant increase in drug trafficking, but also a devastating emergence of human trafficking. In relation to the new complaint that has been filed with this institution, a horrifying pattern of the disappearance of children from Guatemala has been brought to our attention, and it has been reported to the Public Ministry that a complex network involving Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) operating within Guatemala, who collaborate with specific entities in the State of Texas, are implicated in the abuse of Guatemalan children when they are away from their parents and do not have someone to protect them.”

Carter reached out to Attorney General Paxton for comment, but at time of publication had received no response.

American NGOs have already attracted the attention of lawmakers for violations of the law and for failing to protect the migrants in their custody. As Carter notes, these NGOs have included Christian organisations like Annunciation House, a Catholic NGO that is currently being sued by Attorney General Paxton.

In February last year, The New York Times published a detailed exposé on the abuse of migrant children in jobs across the United States. Many are forced to work in violation of child-labour laws. Nearly 130,000 unaccompanied migrant children entered the US governments shelter system in the fiscal year 2022.

Israel Purposely Dragging America Into World War III

The tit-for-tat attacks are escalating between the Jewish and Islamic world's in the Middle East, hurtling the globe toward world war.

On his Sunday show, Alex Jones covered how Israel is dragging the U.S. into World War III.

“All over the internet Israel is so hated now by the majority of people, when Hamas attacked I thought it was terrible, and then I saw the howls of enjoyment from the pro-Israel people when they were carpet bombing innocent people, and I thought that was disgusting and horrible,” the talkshow host said. “And now I’m seeing howls of excitement over Iran hitting Israel, and now I’m seeing all the lip-smacking by the other side, both the neocons and war-mongers and some people in Israel, their leadership, ‘oh we’re going to destroy Iran now’ and we’re all hurtling over the edge of total destruction.”

Jones went on to say nuclear war is not winnable for anyone, and called for the immediate ceasing of hostilities.

US, UK Ban Deliveries of Russian Copper, Nickel And Aluminum to Western Metals Exchanges: Here’s What This Means

The rules prohibit delivery of new supplies from Russia to the London Metal Exchange, where the global benchmark prices are set.

On Friday, the US and UK imposed new restrictions on trading Russian aluminum, copper and nickel in the latest hollow bid to curb President Vladimir Putin’s ability to fund his war machine (as discussed previously, Russian oil is now trading above the western embargo “cap” price virtually everywhere).

According to Bloomberg, the rules prohibit delivery of new supplies from Russia to the London Metal Exchange, where the global benchmark prices are set, as well as to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The restrictions apply to copper, nickel and aluminum produced on or after April 13, and the US is also banning Russian imports of all three metals.

Yet like the case of oil sanctions, the decision is purely for popular theater as it will not prevent Russia from being able to sell its metals, since the sanctions do not prevent non-US persons and entities from buying physical Russian copper, nickel or aluminum. While the LME plays a pivotal role in setting global prices, the vast majority of metals are bought and sold between miners, traders and manufacturers without ever seeing the inside of an LME warehouse. Already since 2022, the share of Russian metals sales to China has increased substantially, as some western buyers sought alternative suppliers.

Still, as Bloomberg notes, the new restrictions are likely to affect prices on the LME, which are used as a benchmark in a huge number of contracts around the world. For months, an influx of Russian metal has weighed on LME prices – particularly for aluminum – with non-Russian supplies trading at a premium.

The sanctions will also affect the willingness of traders to handle Russian metal, as many view the ability to deliver on the LME as essential, and some contracts include clauses specifying that they will be void if the metal ceases to be LME-deliverable.

That means the metal – like Russian sourced oil – is likely to trade at a widening discount to other origins, thus reducing the revenue Russia receives, while still continuing to flow into the global market and avoiding the impact of full-scale sanctions on crucial raw materials while making billions more for global commodity merchants like Glencore, Vitol and Trafigura who will be willing – and very well paid – middlemen to assist buyers in evading sanctions. Russian metals exports were worth $25 billion in 2022 and $15 billion in 2023.

“We will reduce Russia’s earnings while protecting our partners and allies from unwanted spillover effects,” US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in a joint statement with her UK counterpart, Jeremy Hunt, who added that the move “will prevent the Kremlin funneling more cash into its war machine.”

No you won’t. All you will achieve is raising the prices of commodities further, but yes, the sanction will raise questions for Glencore which has remained one of the biggest traders of Russian metal thanks to a long-term contract with Rusal.

Russia is a major producer of the three metals, accounting for about 6% of global nickel production, 5% of aluminum and 4% of copper. However, Russian supplies account for a much larger percentage of metal on the LME. At the end of March, Russian metal accounted for 36% of the nickel in LME warehouses, 62% of the copper and 91% of the aluminum.

Comex copper futures rose after the announcement, while shares of US metal producers including Alcoa Corp. gained in post-market trading.

For a more practical perspective of what the sanctions mean, we go to commodity trading powerhouse Goldman Sachs, whose trading desk has published a note discussing the short and long-term impacts of the delivery ban.

Is this a full sanction on Russian metal ? No, OFAC prohibit:

  • a. Russian metal being imported into the US
  • b. OTC derivates settling against Russian metal
  • c. US persons’ from warranting Russian metal produced after 13th April 2024 on either the COMEX or LME.
  • There has not been any sanction around the consumption of Russian metal.

How much aluminium, copper and nickel does the US currently import ? Very little, imports for 2021, 2022 and 2023 respectively were

  • Aluminium (HS code 7601): 215k, 190k, 17k MT
  • Copper (HS code 7408 + 7403): 10k, 0k, 0k MT
  • Nickel (HS code 7502): 5k, 10k , 0.6k MT
  • Therefore Goldman expects the impact on US physical premiums to be modest because US consumers have already diversified their supply chains away from Russian metal

Are many OTC derivatives settled against Russian metal ? Goldman does not think the Services Determination clause prohibiting settlement of derivatives in Russian metal will impact price because.

  • i) Most OTC derivatives are cash settled; in our experience brand specific physically settled options and swaps are rare
  • ii) Off-take agreements and long-term supply contracts, which probably still do reference Russian metal, are likely not to be classified as a derivative under the Services Determination clause (otherwise end-users would be prevented from consuming Russian metal which would be a de-facto full sanction).

What happens to LME inventory? Unclear until we receive further guidance from the LME, which is scheduled for 11am LDN on Sunday. Currently neither UK nor US persons’ can deliver fresh Russian metal. The question market participants are asking is whether the LME will restrict all future deliveries of Russian metal (not just from UK or US persons).

What % of LME inventory is currently Russian? As of March 28, the LME provided the following breakdown:

  • Aluminium: 312k MT (91%)
  • Copper: 61k MT (62%)
  • Nickel: 25k MT (36%)
  • Which is why LME term structure is in such wide contangos (see below point)

What is the impact on LME spreads? Assuming only US and UK persons’ are restricted from delivering fresh Russian production then the c/3M spread (metal for physical delivery at t+2 vs metal for deliver in 3 months’ time) should trade to full finance, because a) the cohort of participants who can take delivery of Russian metal on the LME is reduced, and b) non-US / UK names are incentivised to delivery excess units to achieve a rent deal. Forwards should tighten due to expectation of lower future supply (as Rusal and Norilsk send a higher % of their production to China).

Can China compensate for lower Russian supply? Yes but it takes time. The dynamic in aluminium, where Chinese demand increased by >10%, yet LME struggled to move higher because China were meeting ex-China end-use demand (solar) via primary tolling will, over the medium-term, limit the impact of lower Russian primary supply to ex-China, but it takes time, and won’t impact price today.

What is the is the impact on flat price? Yesterday’s announcement did not reduce the supply of spot metal to the ex-China market; end-users are not restricted from consuming Russian metal, US consumption of Russian metal is already essentially zero, and Rusal (aluminium) and Norilsk (nickel) will not immediately divert supply to China due to arbitrage economics and capacity constraints – Rusal rail aluminium to Northern China and Norilsk struggle to price against SHFE due to persistent negative ARB caused from Indonesia supply growth, which is tolled via China , for example. That being said, history has taught us that the market will price in some “full-sanction” risk premium which when combined with the current macro bid (reflation narrative etc) means we expect a complex wide rally on the Monday’s Shanghai open. At some point the rally (in vol and price) should be faded (especially in nickel), but given where CTA momentum indicators are currently, this is a debate for another day.
