ERO Boston removes convicted Brazilian extortionist charged locally for assault, battery, strangulation

Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston removed an unlawfully present Brazilian national who is wanted in Brazil for extortion. Deportation officers from ERO Boston removed 31-year-old Raul Thalison De Oliveira-Silva from the United States to Brazil Feb. 23. ERO Boston arrested De Oliveira-Silva in Brockton Nov. 21, 2023, after local authorities had arrested and charged him with strangulation and assault and battery.

ICE provided an overview to stakeholders this week on the recently announced ERO eFile, a new web-based paperless system for immigration attorneys and accredited representatives to provide information about their eligibility to act on behalf of noncitizens in ICE custody through secure online communications.

ERO Boston removes Brazilian fugitive wanted for child rape

Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston removed a Brazilian national convicted of raping a child in his home country. Deportation officers from ERO Boston removed Edimir Gustavo Eckelberg, 62, from the United States to Brazil Jan. 26. Eckelberg had been sought by Brazilian law enforcement authorities since his conviction for rape of a vulnerable child in May 2023. ERO Boston apprehended him Nov. 28, 2023, in Tewksbury.

ERO Boston removes fugitive wanted for rape conviction in Brazil

Francisco Xavier Martins, 43, convicted of rape in Brazil, unlawfully entered the United States in May 2018 to avoid serving his prison sentence. Brazilian authorities have been seeking his custody since March 2019, and deportation officers from ERO Boston arrested him Dec. 5, 2023, in Malden.
